This privacy policy applies to the Fianchetto app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Dawikk (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as an Ad Supported service with optional in-app purchases. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
In short: Fianchetto is an offline-first app. Your chess games, analyses, puzzles, statistics and settings are stored only on your device. The Service Provider does not operate any servers, does not require an account, and never receives or stores your data. The only data leaving your device is (1) what advertising providers collect to show ads, (2) the public games you choose to download when you enter a Lichess or Chess.com username, (3) anonymous usage statistics, which you can switch off, (4) purchase records if you buy Fianchetto Unlimited, and (5) the one-time download of engine files.
The Application is designed to work offline and stores all of your content locally on your device. This includes your games, imported PGN/FEN positions, analyses, puzzles, training progress, statistics and app settings. This information is kept on your device only and is never transmitted to the Service Provider.
The Application does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address or any other personal contact details to use its core features.
The Application uses Google AdMob (and its mediation partners) to display advertisements. To serve and measure ads, these advertising providers may collect information such as:
This data is collected and processed by the advertising providers under their own privacy policies (see "Third Party Access" below), not by the Service Provider.
To understand which features are used and to find problems, the Application uses Google Analytics for Firebase to record anonymous events, such as a game review being started or finished, a screen being opened, a puzzle being attempted or an ad failing to load. These events contain no chess games, positions, usernames or other content you create, and are not linked to your identity. Firebase may process an app-instance identifier, device and operating system information and your approximate country derived from your IP address.
Nothing is reported until your consent choice has been applied, and you can switch this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & data → Share anonymous usage data. Usage statistics are not used for advertising.
If you buy Fianchetto Unlimited, the payment is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store; the Service Provider never receives your name, email or payment details. To confirm and restore your purchase, the Application uses RevenueCat, which receives the store purchase receipt (product, price, currency, purchase and expiry dates, store transaction identifiers) together with an anonymous customer ID generated by the app. This ID is not linked to your name or email. It is shown in the App so that you can quote it when asking for help with a purchase.
When you first choose the Caissa engine or enable human-like moves, the Application downloads the Caissa neural network and the Maia-2 model from their public repositories on GitHub. These are plain file downloads: nothing about you or your games is sent, although, as with any web request, GitHub receives your IP address. After download, the files are used offline.
If you choose to enter a Lichess or Chess.com username, the Application will contact the public Lichess and Chess.com APIs directly to download your publicly available games. No login, password or OAuth is required, and your username is stored only on your device. These requests are subject to the privacy policies of Lichess and Chess.com.
If you enable the optional daily reminder, the Application schedules a local notification on your device. These notifications are generated entirely on-device; no push server or external messaging service is used.
Location Data: The Application does not request, collect or gather precise location information from your mobile device.
The Application relies on third-party services that have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. Because your data is stored only on your device, it is retained for as long as the Application is installed, and is removed when you delete it in-app or uninstall the Application. The Service Provider does not retain copies of your data on any server. Anonymous usage statistics are kept by Firebase under Google Analytics' data retention settings, after which they are deleted automatically. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and the stores for as long as needed to provide the purchase and to meet legal and tax obligations; to have the RevenueCat record linked to your anonymous customer ID deleted, write to us with that ID. If you have any questions about data handling, you can contact the Service Provider at dawikk.apps@gmail.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the event the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, such information will be deleted as soon as reasonably possible.

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information.
Please note that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and the security of data handled by third-party advertising providers is governed by their own policies.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. Because the Service Provider does not store your personal data on its own servers, many of these rights are exercised directly on your device:
